As of late, due to my own choice, I am unemployed (I will discuss this opportunity in an upcoming blog) and have quite a bit more free time on my hands so I have been finding little projects around the house and yard to keep me occupied. This also means that I will be writing more frequent blogs on different topics and sharing some creative and insightful ideas with you.
I have titled today "Whimsical Wednedsay" (Thank you Marg for helping me to choose this title!) Why whimsical? Because I do NOT in any way shape or form consider myself a crafty person but with more free time on my hands, projects come to mind that I have thought about doing but haven't had the time...until now. Trust me, if I can do things like this... anyone can. These project also brings me great joy and I'm pretty sure I look quite whimsical while doing them. I'm not too sure how many people have random stumps around but you never know...and it was SOOO much fun!
Yesterday's project began almost 2 years ago when our very large maple tree in the back yard had some weather damage and we had to cut the beautiful beast down. The guy that came to cut the tree down for us asked me if I wanted him to carve something into the remaining stump and I told him to surprise me. As I stood there I watched him fascinated by the chainsaw he transform this large eyesore of a stump into a cute little Christmas tree that I vowed I would paint one day. Well, that happened over the last couple of days that were relatively warm day in Edmonton, Alberta and I completed my tree so that I am able to share it with you today. The funny thing is, that Mother Nature is having a hot flash and decided to drop a winters worth of snow on us overnight and continues to do so as I write... so you get to see my Everyday Christmas Tree during spring and winter settings! Make sure you check back in for tomorrows blog "Blurbday Thursday" where I will share a sample of my Memoir "HerStory ~ Victim to Victorious" available in the bookstore.
What do you think? too much? naaaaaaaah. never too much Christmas joy...Happy Whimsical Wednesday!
