Alexander Graham Bell.
Hello! Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read my blog! I have some very exciting news to share with you and I hope you’ll be as excited as I am!!
I love this quote but I’m not one to fall into the category that Mr. Bell so eloquently describes. I believe that when another door closes it usually leads to 10 more open doors. I gladly and gratefully walk away from the closed door and towards where I am being led.
I'd like to express a heart felt THANK YOU to those of you who have supported me and my crazy and amazing journey that I’m living. Honestly, without your cheering me on, I’m not so sure I would have made it quite this far. I’m blessed to be loved, nurtured and encouraged by so many. Please know I adore you.
As some of you already know, on March 25, 2017 I was invited to audition as a potential contestant for an upcoming televised baking show. Baking is a huge passion for me and so it was a great honor to be invited and an even bigger honor to bake my husband’s Granny’s black forest cake for the network. I am so blessed to have competed against literally thousands of people all over Canada so in my eyes, this was an opportunity of a lifetime, surely one that I never dreamed of achieving in mine.
At the end of audition day, we were told that we’d hear back from the network by mid-April because taping starts in May. And time stood still. While waiting on bated breath and managing my anxiety, several opportunities arose that I wouldn’t be able to partake in should I get chosen for the show.
Today I share one of the PLETHORA of offers I’ve chosen since this one door has closed.
I'm blessed to have thrived in life despite many and various abuses, traumas and addiction. As a mom of 2 adult sons and a mental health specialist I now mentor others to "face their fears" and "step outside of their box" to live a more fulfilling life. I want to make sure that I practice what I preach. I personally am deathly afraid of heights and want to address and face that fear head on and step outside of my own box...therefore, I "Leap."
I won't be alone!~
My youngest son Nathaniel who has not had an adventurous life and has faced his own challenges is taking my teachings to show you what he's learned. He unoquicovally wants and deserves to step outside of his comfort zone ...therefore, he "Leaps."
The fact that we also get to help support a wonderful and deserving charity is just the icing on the cake!!
We won't be alone!~
The two of us along with many other brave souls are taking a Leap of Faith at 14,000 feet in support of the Edmonton Dream Centre, a centre that provides help for women in crisis with their children. These women take a Leap of Faith each and every day, choosing to change the direction of their life!
This is where YOU come in!
We need $1500.00 EACH for this amazing opportunity to happen the extra $500 We're asking for is just a little frosting for an incredibly deserving charity.
