I wrote this blog just over a year ago. I know some of you are going to want to kick me but I would take a good downpour of snow right about now. Snow, Rain, Moisture that will quench the earth that is parched after a dry winter and very much needed. Please Mother Nature. Give us Rain.
I still love going out back and watching the different growth that surrounds my little forever Christmas Tree.
Hello and WELCOME to my blog "Victorem Viventem" which if you don't already know, translates into "Victorious Living" in Latin. This means many things to me and today we will explore another facet of my diverse and quirky personality. I am a high energy type of person and always feel like I "have" to be doing something ...anything. Writing a blog most... well, every day is a task, I have to force myself to sit still long enough to write something hopefully interesting enough to keep you coming back for more.
As of late, due to my own choice, I am unemployed (I will discuss this opportunity in an upcoming blog) and have quite a bit more free time on my hands so I have been finding little projects around the house and yard to keep me occupied. This also means that I will be writing more frequent blogs on different topics and sharing some creative and insightful ideas with you.
I have titled today "Whimsical Wednesday" (Thank you Marg for helping me to choose this title!) Why whimsical? Because I do NOT in any way shape or form consider myself a crafty person but with more free time on my hands, projects come to mind that I have thought about doing but haven't had the time...until now. Trust me, if I can do things like this... anyone can. These projects also bring me great joy and I'm pretty sure I look quite whimsical while doing them.
Yesterday's project began almost 2 years ago when our very large maple tree in the back yard had some weather damage and we had to cut the beautiful beast down. The guy that came to cut the tree down for us asked me if I wanted him to carve something into the remaining stump and I told him to surprise me. As I stood there I watched him fascinated by the chainsaw he transform this large eyesore of a stump into a cute little Christmas tree that I vowed I would paint one day. Well, that happened over the last couple of days that were relatively warm day in Edmonton, Alberta and I completed my tree so that I am able to share it with you today. The funny thing is, that Mother Nature is having a hot flash and decided to drop a winters worth of snow on us overnight and continues to do so as I write... so you get to see my Everyday Christmas Tree during spring and winter settings!
Too much? Naaaaaaaah! Never too much Christmas joy...Happy Whimsical Wednesday!
